9th Grade Service Expectations

Service Expectations

Each Confirmation candidate is expected to complete at least 1 service activity this year. The service activity should be an ongoing ministry of St. Francis of Assisi or should benefit the church. Some examples include: Hospitality for Gathering Sunday, Teacher’s Aid for Faith Formation, cleaning the church grounds, Channel One, Resource Room, etc. Refer to the time and talent books for more service ideas. Students are encouraged to try a service activity that is new to them. After the service is completed, each student is expected to write a Service Summary Report. If you have questions about a particular service project or need other ideas, contact the Youth Ministry Coordinator.

Service Summaries

Each Confirmation candidate is expected to complete at least 1 service activity this year. When the service activity has been completed, the candidate is expected to write a Service Summary Report.

This Service Summary should be typed and should answer the following questions.

What service did I participate in this year?
What date and how much time did I give to this service?
What expectations did I have about this service? Was it what I thought it would be?
How does service help me prepare for Confirmation?
Where did I see Christ in this service? (Read Matthew 25:35-40)
Would I participate in this service again? Why or why not?
(If no, what service would you like to try instead?)
